Even More [Outlanders] Concept Art

I'm working on the look of high-town Berkton. ~ It's not quite finished, but I like where it's headed.

More [Outlanders] Concept Art

Just some late night concept art of one of the Loren (monsters) from the Outlanders project. There are lots of different types of Loren, all with different strengths and weaknesses. Despite this one's sleeker and comparably less imposing appearance, it's actually one the most formidable types of Loren.

Novra sketches and dragons

I've been enjoying myself far too much with these rough sketches and drafts of Novra's clothing styles and local wildlife. Plus, I can never draw enough dragons.

[Outlanders] Character Art

Alongside my world-building projects and the pre-production of Manichaeid, I also have a personal game project that I've been working on. Though it has a long way to go, I think my character sketches are starting to have a good base. By the time the designs are done, I'm sure they'll look nothing like the originals, but the process is always fun.

Maps, Maps, Maps

I often use inkarnate as a world drafting tool and it is honestly one of the greatest world building assets I've ever used. I can overhaul the map with relative ease, separate layers for easy organization, leave myself geographically-pinned notes about macro or micro things I want to remember, save multiple versions of the same map, and even export in high resolution. They give permission to use/publish the maps we create, but I still prefer illustrating them myself when the overall design process is done. There's nothing quite like that old parchment look on a classic fantasy map, or the dense colors and styled alien shapes that can only be reached by illustrating exactly what you need. However, inkarnate as a drafting tool has 100% been a game changer for me. I've been using it for a while now, but I still can't get enough of it. I make so many notes that only I can see/access, keeping track of secrets and world history and background knowledge that I don't want to forget, but that I might not want to spoil for others just yet. ~ After all, it's better to let the explorers discover some things on their own. ;)

I have so many world maps at varying stages just floating around on my inkarnate account. I love watching them grow and evolve as their worlds develop. All of the maps I've posted here are FAR from complete, but I do love the process, and wanted to share some of my recent edits to upcoming worlds. Hopefully their narrative counterparts will be available soon as well, though that might still be a ways off yet.

[Manichaeid] Concept Art

Preproduction is coming along swimmingly for the extended Manichaeid Project. The initial sketch for the mountain village is giving us a good base to work with.

[Outlanders] Concept Art

There is a great deal more about this world and its story that I'm looking forward to adding to my published projects. (Once it's a bit more polished, of course)
